Today the iPhone Dev team will release the iPhone/iPod Touch PWNED/PWNAGE tool. This is a really powerful tool. It will completely eliminate the need for jailbreaking your iPod Touch or your iPhone. What this tool does is that it takes your firmware, and allows you to modify your.ipsw files to make the firmware work as the way you want it to work. You can develop your own applications and modify the iPod firmware directly instead of having to download and jailbreak and hope it works. In other words, you can fully modify your iPhone or iPod Touch!
You can view a video of how this works below. Updates on the release of this tool will be posted on this website, be sure to check back later today!

How to Block Ads on the iPod Touch
Lets face it, the Ads on most websites are annoying, and we definitely don't want them to load on our iPod Touch! Websites would definitely load faster in the iPod Touch Safari browser if all the Ads were blocked. This tutorial will show you exactly how you can block Ads.
Note: You must be running a jailbroken firmware 1.1.1, 1.1.2,1.1.3, or 1.1.4 to work with this tutorial.
Okay, lets start!
1. Launch Installer. Tap Edit, and click Add on the top left corner. Type in the following address for the source: http://i.cocoamug.com and tap "Okay" to continue.
2. Tap the "Install" button and scroll down the categories until you see the Cocoamug Software Category.
3. Once you are in the Cocoamug Software category, tap Adblock and click Install.
4. Once it's installed, reboot your iPod Touch firmware 1.1.4/1.1.2/1.1.3/1.1.1. You should now see an icon on springboard that shows Adblock. Tap that icon and start configuring your options!

iPod Touch firmware 2.0 video details
Here is a video on the iPhone / iPod Touch firmware 2.0 which shows the new features that are added to it.
As you can see in the video, new features include:
- Calculator has square shaped buttons instead of the circle buttons
- There are parental controls added (requires you to type in a passcode to access controls)
- The iTunes logo has a new icon
- Microsoft Exchange Server is added to the e-mails list
- Cisco VPN
- New Calendar features
- Support for WPA/WPA 2 on WiFi
Well, if you saw the video, you would have noticed that the iPod Touch firmware 2.0 wasn't jailbreaked in there. But the DEV team HAS already jailbreaked it and will release the jailbreak once the firmware for the 2.0 comes out.

iPhone 2.0 jailbreak!
The Dev team has already jailbrokent the iPhone 2.0 firmware before it even came out! Hopefully the same will be done for iPod Touch 2.0 by the time it comes out. That's all we know so far. This is a screenshot of the jailbreak. There's really not much to share at this point.

Java for iPod Touch?
Sun Microsystems is developing a Java Virtual Machine for Apple's iPhone and plans to release the JVM some time after June, enabling Java applications to run on the popular mobile device.
The JVM is to be based on the Java Micro Edition (ME) version of Java, said Eric Klein, vice president of Java marketing at Sun, on Friday afternoon. Apple had not shown interest in enabling Java to run on the iPhone, but Sun plans to step in and do the job itself after having pondered Thursday's release of an SDK for the iPhone by Apple.
"Now, the iPhone is open" as a target platform, Klein said. The free JVM would be made available via Apple's AppStore marketplace for third-party applications.
"We're going to make sure that the JVM offers the Java applications as much access to the native functionality of the iPhone as possible," he said.
Besides Java games, developers could bring over enterprise applications such as ERP or CRM to the iPhone, said Klein. Apple's iTouch, which features iPhone capabilities minus telephony, also will be supported by the JVM.
"Once our JVM is on the phone, we anticipate that a large number of Java applications would run on the phone," Klein said.
"We're going to work to make sure that the JVM offers the Java applications as much access to the native functionality of the iPhone as possible," said Klein.
By bringing the JVM to the iPhone, Java capabilities in area such as SSL security could be brought to Apple's platform, said analyst Chris Silva of Forrester Research.
"I think going forward, with the SDK, it takes out of Apple's control which applications are 'right' for the iPhone," Silva said.
Sun came to the conclusion it could make a JVM work on the iPhone after taking 24 hours to look at information on Apple's SDK. Sun saw nothing in the public statements preventing the JVM from being one of the applications enabled on the iPhone, said Klein. Apple released the SDK in conjunction with the beta release if its iPhone 2.0 software; the general release of iPhone 2.0 is scheduled for June.
Future plans could include extending more sophisticated Java Standard Edition (SE) and JavaFX technologies to the iPhone, Klein said.
"It's a new platform for us. We might be able to bring additional technologies onto the iPhone and the iTouch," Klein said.
Developers, Klein said, have built great applications, and until now they have been unable to get them running on the iPhone. Sun previously has expressed its desire that Java be supported on the iPhone.
