Apple has finally released the iPod Touch 2.2 update. After looking at the list of the iPod Touch 2.2 features I think it's really worth the upgrade. So you should go ahead and upgrade! But wait, do you have a jailbroken iPod Touch? Sorry, there is no jailbreak for iPod Touch 2.2 firmware yet. You will have to wait until there is one released by the Dev Team. I will keep you updated and make a post once it is released.

So what are the new iPod Touch 2.2 features? Here is a list of the features:
  • Enhancements to Maps
    • Google Street View*
    • Public transit and walking directions
    • Display address of dropped pins
    • Share location via email
  • Decrease in call setup failures and dropped calls
  • Enhancements to Mail
    • Resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email
    • Improved formatting of wide HTML email
  • Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes application (over Wi-Fi and cellular network)
  • Improved stability and performance of Safari
  • Improved sound quality of Visual Voicemail messages
  • Pressing Home button from any Home screen displays the first Home screen
  • Preference to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard Settings
If you want to upgrade to iPod Touch 2.2 and you don't want to wait for the jailbreak, just launch iTunes and click shift+update to update your firmware.

Everytime I try to update my software (2.0, 2.2 ect) my ipod freezes with the usb>Itunes image. Everytime. The last time I got it to work by restarting my computer and ipod maybe 30 times...and I lost all my backdata. How do I fix this? I'm thinking about going to my local Apple store..but that'll have to wait until the weekend, and I don't know if I can last that long X-D
