Use iPod Touch as hard drive w/USB Guide!

You can now use your iPod Touch as a hard drive, thanks to the iPhoneBrowser. It's a windows based GUI that allows you to browse through files on the iPod Touch or the iPhone. You can add the application in your USB and use it to edit files in your iPod Touch on your office computer. You will need your iPod Touch USB cable to connect your iPod Touch to the computer.

Current features of this application include:
-Automatic Preview
-Drag and Drop
-Save As
-Backup File
-Replace File
-Delete File

Here's how to install this App in your USB Flashdrive, first download the iPhoneBrowser from the below link:
SetupiPhoneBrowser.1.4.zip (435 KB) - Click to Download

1. After downloading the ZIP file, extract all the content.
2. Double-click the SetupiPhonebrowser.msi file. You should see the "Welcome to the iPhone Browser Setup Wizard".

3. Click Next.
4. Click "Browse" and select your flash drive for the installation location.

5. Click "Next".
6. Confirm the installation by clicking on "Next" again.

7. Your iPhoneBrowser is now being installed. Congrats!

Now you can use your iPod Touch as a hard drive when you go to your office or workplace. Save your important files, documents, etc!

On my Mac I use iphonedisk:
http://code.google.com/p/iphonedisk/

Right now it doesn't allow access to the root but you can still access the media partition. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

This program may not be compatible with the firmware of your iPod Touch/iPhone you're running.

Note: This was meant for an iPhone, so it may or may not work with the iPod Touch.

This works fine with an Ipod Touch and Win XP. Install the program to yoru hard drive, then go to Start and run the program. With a right click on one of the folders you can create a new folder, then you can just drag and drop files in to it. To then transfer file back to your hard drive you need to do a 'save as' - drap and drop wont work. If you go to My Computer, for some reason the Ipod Touch does not show up as an extra drive.

Any chance that this allows web pages to be saved and accessed when no wi-fi connection is available?

Hi all,

The soft is cool and easy to use, no doubt about it (a better ID3 tag reader would be great though), but pretty unstable! On my computer, it basically crashes every time I'm switching to another program (incl. the finder or firefox). Does anyone have the same issue? Or is it my crapy Dell again (can't try it on another machine, I'm @ work...)

Cheers!

It doesn't work for me on my home computer, but it works on my work computer. On my home one, I get a message that says "iPhoneBrowser.exe" has encountered an error and needs to close."
